What are the conditions in which intelligence is being formed?
— ALIGNMENT THESIS
Natural intelligence arises from living systems. They organize energy, water, and ecology into form. Human intelligence develops within those conditions. Artificial intelligence is now being formed within systems designed by humans.
Each inherits what formed it. Until now, that inheritance has run one direction.
When conditions are extractive, intelligence compounds extraction. When they are coherent, it compounds coherence. A one-directional line draws the power, the water, the value — and passes nothing back.
RIH builds at the level of conditions — energy, capital, governance, and people. They strengthen together with the intelligence forming inside them. This is upstream alignment: coherence built into the Field, not corrected after.
Then the line closes. Compute generates revenue. Revenue circulates through the Trust, reintegrated into the same conditions that formed it. Each cycle begins from a stronger state. Nothing terminates. Everything returns.
The future of intelligence won't be corrected into coherence. It will be formed in it.

Value that passes through a place does not stay. The aid faded. What she built with local partners did not — it went on producing long after she left. The difference was never the intention. It was the structure.
In 2022, a hydropower plant went up beside a Girls INpowerment Home & Education Center she had built. The power was cheap, renewable, and abundant. The obvious move was to monetize it. But she already knew where that led. Monetized power would be one more thing that passed through. The question was never how to profit from it. It was how to make it fund the community — and keep funding it.
That answer needed a partner who saw it the same way. She had one in Uttam Bhlon Lama — Vice President of the Independent Power Producers' Association of Nepal, and the principal behind the hydro and construction assets the system would run on. They formed a joint venture, and began designing a regenerative system across its hydro network: power structured to fund the places it ran through. Regenerative Intelligence Infrastructure™ was born in 2022.
The first design was a Bitcoin mine, its revenue routed through a charitable trust to the community before it distributed outward. The trust was the real invention. Energy generates revenue. Revenue flows through the trust. Value stays in the place that produced it. They spent 3 years working to legalize Bitcoin in Nepal, to no avail.
The last year the logic completed itself. The same power could run AI compute — a higher use, and the largest infrastructure buildout in history. And AI carried a dimension Bitcoin never had. This infrastructure does not only move value. It forms intelligence. The conditions it is built inside become part of what that intelligence becomes.
The conditions of creation shape what is created.
What she saw after the earthquakes turned out to be the pattern everywhere. AI is scaling through extraction. Communities carry the burden. Value and control leave. She had spent two decades watching that pattern fail — and building the exception. Now the exception had a name, a structure, a partner, and a trust already in the ground.

How We Build
We are a development and holding company that originates, structures, and governs Regenerative Intelligence Infrastructure® through Joint Ventures. Local partners deliver land, permits, power, fiber, and construction; operators run the facilities and hardware. RIH designs the regenerative layer — biomimetic, biophilic, coherence-based — establishes Community Trust governance, and structures the catalytic and blended capital that brings each project to life.

Katie Hilborn
Founder & Managing DirectorOriginated an AI data center with hydro power already serving rural and at-risk communities in Nepal — then formed the joint venture and, with her co-founder, built the capital formation architecture and Community Trust structure anchoring RIH’s model globally. Of her twenty years in international development, fifteen centered on Nepal — including the 2015 earthquake response — where she built extensive relationships across development, energy, and financial sectors, and originated and completed three critical-infrastructure projects. Her work includes infrastructure and community development projects in Uganda and Bolivia. RIH is now extending that Regenerative Intelligence Infrastructure™ model to new geographies.
Christopher Gee
Co-Founder; Strategy, Finance, and TechnologyHe designed the capital structure, regulatory strategy, and investment thesis that make RIH investable across jurisdictions, and co-architected the community benefit architecture — revenue-sharing trusts and land stewardship frameworks — that anchor RIH’s model globally. Of his twenty years in international development, finance, and technology, he brings deep experience in digital infrastructure and public-private partnership design through work with the World Bank, UNICEF, UNDP, and government partners across Asia, Africa, and the Pacific. Previously, he co-founded and served as COO of Shanzhai City, building FinTech and AI solutions for HKEX and the Binance Charity Foundation. That experience now supports RIH’s expansion of its Regenerative Intelligence Infrastructure™ model into new geographies.
